Apparently Mercedes is aiming for an announcement during Hamilton's home race: the Grand Prix in Silverstone will take place on July 8th. Daniel Ricciardo and his Red Bull Racing team are also close to reaching an agreement. “We are getting closer to the matter,” says the Australian. The two-time season winner has long been considered an attractive option for Ferrari and Mercedes, but Ricciardo's chances of making such a leap are diminishing. Who owns the future? Ricciardo's bad luck: A young Monegasque is currently showing impressively that he would probably be ready to drive the second Ferrari next to Sebastian Vettel next season. Charles Leclerc (20) impressed race after race in the actually inferior Sauber and finished in the points in four of the last five World Championship races.
