Although Mercedes still leads with 55 points, the Scuderia gave away too many points in late summer. The current form now speaks in favor of the Reds again. Can this still save the season for Ferrari? That would perhaps be too high. The driver's title also stands above all else for Maranello, simply because it is much more noticeable from the outside. Nevertheless, the team world championship is important, the proud racing team with the Prancing Horse wants to finally build the best car in Formula 1 again - officially. If that doesn't happen this year either, then the Reds will be without a title for ten years: their last victory in the constructors' championship was in 2008, and a year earlier Kimi Räikkönen was the last Ferrari driver to become world champion. What are the balance of power? It's a bit strange. Mercedes returned to its former strength for around a month, from the beginning of September to the beginning of October. During this time, Lewis Hamilton won four races in a row and laid the foundation for his renewed title win. And it was precisely at this time that Ferrari allowed itself its worst weak phase of the season. In the meantime, however, the balance of power seems to have completely changed again. Ferrari was faster in the US and Mexico, and Mercedes even fell behind Red Bull. What role does Red Bull play? In Mexico, Max Verstappen took the Bulls' fourth win of the season; it was no surprise: in the thin mountain air, the Red Bull car particularly benefits from its strong aerodynamics. Overall, the duo Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo are back in the game, and that could be a trump card for Ferrari in the fight for the team world championship. In order to catch up on 55 points in two races, it would be important if at least one Red Bull moved between red and silver.
