Hamilton wins chaos race – high tension before the final act

Multiple interruptions The race was interrupted several times due to accidents and car parts lying around. First, an accident involving Haas driver Mick Schumacher on lap ten triggered a red flag. Just seconds after the standing restart, the race was interrupted again following several accidents at the back of the field.

The race management repeatedly had to intervene in controversial scenes between Verstappen and Hamilton. The negative highlight was when the Dutchman seemed to let the seven-time champion jump. The team had told him to give the position back. The Dutchman had previously countered another attack and left the track. After the crashes in Silverstone and Monza, the poisonous duel reached a new dimension. Verstappen let Hamilton pass again, but attacked again straight away. The race management had enough: he received a five-second penalty.
