Bottas crossed the finish line 26 seconds after Hamilton in second place - light years in the high-speed sport of Formula 1. When it comes down to it, the Finn is inferior to the Brit in all aspects: he has worse tire management, he makes more mistakes, he brakes earlier, he it's more like getting off the gas. Bottas is and remains Hamilton's wingman. And a welcome points collector for Mercedes.

SEBASTIAN VETTEL: The man was world champion four times, Sebastian Vettel is recognized as one of the best drivers in the field. He is on the sidelines at Ferrari, something he has known at least since the Scuderia informed him at the beginning of July that he would be thrown out at the end of the season. Vettel also knows that Ferrari is betting everything on Charles Leclerc, the young Monegasque is the future for Maranello, Vettel a long-forgotten past. Nevertheless, he takes the situation with dignity. And secretly hopes to be able to get back at Ferrari in the Aston Martin in 2021.

LANCE STROLL: However, Vettel's future teammate won't be of much help. The fact that Lance Stroll is only allowed to take part in Formula 1 because of his father's billions became abundantly clear once again in Portugal. The Canadian received a number of time penalties because of his driving style, he attempted risky and ultimately completely hopeless overtaking maneuvers several times and was ultimately whistled into the pits by his team to avoid major disaster. You can buy a racing team with a few million, but that doesn't make you a winner. To put it bluntly: money alone doesn't win races.

To explain: Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll (Lance's father) is the majority owner of Racing Point (future Aston Martin). That's why there are open rumors that this is the only reason why Lance will be allowed to stay with the racing team next year. His current teammate Sergio Perez (74 points), who will be replaced by Vettel in the new season, has collected significantly more points than Stroll (57). Substitute driver Niko Hülkenberg also usually cut a better figure than the Canadian during his outings.

GEORGE RUSSELL: ... but can cause considerable injustice. It's not for nothing that George Russell is a Mercedes protégé; the young Brit is fast, eloquent and ambitious. So far this season he has clearly kept his Williams teammate Nicholas Latifi at bay, both in qualifying and in the race. Nevertheless, Russell is threatened with losing his cockpit - of course it's about money. Latifi has sponsors worth millions behind him and he will definitely be in the Williams in 2021. And Russell's cockpit is expected to be bought by the Mexican Sergio Perez, also supported by strong donors. And Russell? Well, he has talent, but no money.
