Next pole: Leclerc shines in Barcelona

The Ferrari driver was the fastest in an exciting qualifying session on Saturday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and ended up 0,323 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen in the Red Bull. The Dutchman had a technical problem at the end of the session.

Third place went to local hero Carlos Sainz in the second Ferrari, fourth place went to George Russell in the Mercedes. Russel's teammate Lewis Hamilton had to settle for 6th place. Mick Schumacher achieved his best career result to date in the hunt for a starting position in the Haas racing car in tenth place.

Leclerc achieved the 13th pole position of his career and the fourth of the year with just one attempt remaining after he spun on his first outing in the final qualifying section. Before the sixth round of the season on Sunday (15.00 p.m.), Leclerc leads the championship standings with 19 points over Verstappen.
