That’s what happens around motorsport too.” The 48-year-old also at least partially cleared up the rumors about his own future. His purchase of shares in the British automobile manufacturer Aston Martin, which will start with a factory team in Formula 2021 in 1, should be understood as a financial investment. Wolff explained that he believes in the brand and the management. However, he “will not play any role” operationally. He is “at Mercedes in Formula 1 and is a joint shareholder with Mercedes in this team. That’s what my entire activity is aimed at.” Wolff's contract with the world champion racing team of the last six years is expiring, but he remained tight-lipped about his future in this regard. The Austrian holds 30 percent of the shares in the team.
