Vettel attacks in the SF90: Ferrari presents a new car

Sebastian Vettel (Germany) and his new teammate Charles Leclerc (Monaco) attack in the SF90. The car, finished in matt red, bears this name because of the Scuderia's 90th birthday this year.

“I'm extremely excited, I'm seeing the car completely assembled for the first time,” said Vettel, who received a lot of applause at the presentation in Maranello: “Unfortunately, I'm not dressed properly and I can't just jump in and drive off. I can’t wait.” Vettel and Leclerc both wore black suits with a Ferrari crest.

Vettel is entering his fifth year with the traditional Italian racing team. So far, the 31-year-old has been denied the big hit with the Scuderia - but in the 2019 season, nothing other than the world championship title counts. “Sebastian is hungry as ever. He knows that the entire team is behind him,” said Ferrari board member Louis Camilleri.

The last world title for Ferrari was won by Kimi Räikkönen in 2007. In the last five years, Mercedes and especially Lewis Hamilton, who triumphed four times, have dominated. Vettel himself won the world championship four times in a row from 2010 to 2013 - but at that time he was still for Red Bull. The seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, Vettel's great role model, also drove for the Italians in his fifth year in 2000, when he won his first of five world championship titles Ferrari took.
