Official: Mick Schumacher new Haas driver

The US racing team announced this on Wednesday morning in the run-up to the Grand Prix in Bahrain (Sunday, 18.10:1 p.m.). “The prospect of competing in Formula 1 next year makes me incredibly happy and I am simply speechless,” said Schumacher: “I would also like to thank my parents and express my love to them – I know that I owe them everything. I always believed that I could achieve my dream of Formula XNUMX.”

Schumacher will make his first Formula 1 appearance on December 11th in the first free practice session at the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Four days later, he will also drive for Haas in the young driver test in the same place and gain further experience.

Like Schumacher, the Russian Nikita Mazepin will also be joining the team in 2021, Haas announced on Tuesday. With three points, the Americans are second to last in the constructors' championship. Schumacher belongs to Ferrari's youth academy, so promotion to one of the Scuderia's partner teams was always the most likely option.
