Wild rumors: Red Bull Zoff reaches the next level

The dispute between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez that sparked at the Brazilian Grand Prix has apparently still not been resolved. An incident in Monaco is said to have started the ball rolling. According to the accusation, Perez intentionally caused a red flag in qualifying and thus deprived Verstappen of the chance for pole position. In Brazil there was a comeback, the world champion ignored team orders and left his colleague behind.

After Brazil, there was said to have been a discussion between the two disputers - at the initiative of Red Bull. At the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi, everything seemed to be nothing but joy. Perez praised his teammate's support after qualifying, only to complain loudly on the radio during the race that, in his opinion, Verstappen was driving too slowly. In the end, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took second place in the drivers' championship. This angered the Mexican. Verstappen was also booed by the spectators in Abu Dhabi at the award ceremony because of his lack of help for Perez.

Perez's father fights against Verstappen Perez's father Antonio then fought against Verstappen: “Max can already feel the breath of Checo (Sergio Perez; Note d. Red. ) in his helmet. He [Verstappen] has never had a similar teammate, the others were much worse. Checo wins races that Max cannot win, the really difficult races.” He is referring to the triumph in Monaco or the victory in Singapore.

The tablecloth between Verstappen and Perez seems to have been cut. The Dutchman's departure is out of the question, but things could get tight for Perez. Although he extended his contract in Monaco of all places until 2024, the intentional qualifying accident could serve as a reason for termination for those responsible.

According to media reports, Verstappen, who wants to get rid of Perez, wants Daniel Ricciardo back as a teammate. This was already the case between 2016 and 2018, but then the Australian left the team for Renault/Alpine because he felt disadvantaged by Red Bull. Ricciardo returned to Red Bull after leaving McLaren on Wednesday - officially as a test driver - or replacement driver. However, the fact that the 33-year-old will only return as the third pilot has apparently not yet been completely set in stone. So things remain exciting at Red Bull.
