Bad weather: Schumacher's training debut falls through

Nurburgring (SID) Mick Schumacher's training debut in Formula 1 was canceled due to bad weather at the Nürburgring. The race management decided that the session scheduled for 11.00 a.m. cannot be started and will be canceled. Due to constant rain and fog in the Eifel, the rescue helicopter was unable to take off - but this is a requirement. The 21-year-old Schumacher was supposed to drive a Formula 1 car under competition conditions for the first time in the first training session on Friday. However, like all other racing cars, his Alfa Romeo with starting number 37 remained in the garage. The son of record world champion Michael Schumacher represented Alfa regular driver Antonio Giovinazzi on Friday morning. The Formula 2 leader has to make room for the Italian in the second session (15.00 p.m./ntv and Sky). The weather at the Nürburgring is expected to remain moderate throughout the race weekend. Cool temperatures and wind are also expected for Saturday and the race on Sunday (14.10 p.m./RTL and Sky), but at most showers are expected on these days.
