Verstappen's swipe at Hamilton

In an interview with the British magazine Motorsport, Verstappen once again made it clear that he is no ordinary Formula 1 professional. The young Dutchman didn't mince his words and expressed his opinion about Lewis Hamilton: “He's nothing special, I'm not just focused on Lewis. There are other great pilots in action who can achieve similar results,” said the Dutchman.

Tough stuff from Verstappen And further: “His performance depends on the car that is available to him. In all these years he has never had a teammate who put him under a lot of pressure. He should have become world champion in 2016 too, but his car let him down in Malaysia, and then a few episodes and unfortunate starts ensured that he lost the world title. But there was never a teammate who really got him into trouble.” Tough stuff that the young Verstappen says. It remains to be seen how Hamilton responds to this criticism.

In any case, the numbers are on Hamilton's side: he has been crowned world champion five times, and a sixth title could be added this year. With 250 points, the Brit leads by a respectable margin over his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas (188). In total, Hamilton achieved eight victories in twelve races this year.
