Verstappen on Hamilton: “He is not God”

“Lewis is very good and definitely one of the best, but he is not God,” said the Dutchman at an event with his Red Bull team: “Maybe God is with him, but he is not God.”

Verstappen sees himself as a serious challenger to Hamilton in the coming season. “We believe that we have every opportunity to do that,” he said and hopes to be at the forefront from the first race of the year in Australia (March 15th): “If you can put pressure on it, it is much more difficult for you Man at the top. If he’s never really under pressure, he can drive at 97 or 98 percent - and then you never make mistakes.”

Verstappen recently extended his expiring contract with Red Bull until 2023. “This is the right place,” said the youngest Grand Prix winner in history: “I see the motivation and the hunger to fight for victories and a championship.”

Red Bull wants to present its car for the upcoming season on February 12th, the day before Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel (Heppenheim) will show their racing car for the 2020 title mission. Mercedes will present its Silver Arrow on Valentine's Day (February 14th). The first test drives start on February 19th in Barcelona.
