From Schumacher's debut to Aston Martin: This is Vettel's new team

In 1991, after some success in junior series, Eddie Jordan entered the premier class with his own racing team. And in the eleventh race of the season, Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut in Spa - because regular driver Bertrand Gachot was temporarily in prison. Jordan celebrated his greatest successes at the end of the 1990s, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen came third in the 1999 World Cup. From Jordan to Racing Point After years of decline, the team changed hands several times within a short period of time. In 2005, Eddie Jordan sold the racing team to the Midland Group, and in 2006 the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker took over the team. The team was sold again in 2008, this time to Indian businessman Vijay Mallya. He renamed the racing team Force India, and a phase of promotion followed. With the superior Mercedes engines from 2014 onwards, isolated podium finishes were achieved.

In 2018, the once again economically struggling team was taken over by a consortium led by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll and renamed Racing Point. From 2021, the racing team will compete as Aston Martin - and wants to with Sebastian Vettel get involved at the front.

Racing Point wants to attack Formula 2021 under the name Aston Martin and with Sebastian Vettel as team leader from 1. It is the next chapter in an eventful history of the racing team, in which a certain Michael Schumacher also plays a role.
