Mick Schumacher is entering his second Formula 3 season

Milan (SID) Mick Schumacher is entering his second Formula 3 season with Prema Powerteam. The 18-year-old son of Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher has extended his expiring contract and will drive one of five Prema cars in the coming racing year. The new Formula 3 season begins in mid-May in Pau, France. "The competition in Formula 3 is tough, strong and close. The team is very easy to work with and I am convinced that we can experience even more exciting moments together," said Schumacher: "I am determined to continue making progress and I want to "Fighting with the best riders at the front". After two years in the ADAC Formula 4, Schumacher moved to the next higher junior class at the beginning of 2017. As one of the youngest drivers in the field, Schumacher came twelfth overall in his debut season; his best race result was third place in Monza. Schumacher had repeatedly stated that he wanted to drive in Formula 1 in the long term. Formula 3 is considered a stepping stone on the way to the premier class. In Max Verstappen (Netherlands), the French Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll (Canada), three former champions will hold a regular cockpit in the coming Formula 1 season.
