1st win of the season for Yamaha – Rossi out

Pole man Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) dictated the racing action on the traditional track in the Netherlands for a good 2/3 of the distance, but Vinales and Marquez overtook the Frenchman with 9 laps to go. Vinales cruised to an unchallenged victory, but Marquez couldn't keep up with his compatriot's pace. In the early stages of the race (2nd lap) the leader Alex Rins (ESP) fell. It is the first win of the season for Vinales, as well as for Yamaha. The 1-year-old Quartararo took third place, his second podium finish in a row.

With second place, Marquez extended his lead in the World Championship standings to 2 points over his pursuer Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati), who missed the podium in fourth place in Assen. Valentino Rossi fell, it was the Italian's third zero in a row.

Premiere winner in Moto2 There was a premiere winner in the Moto2 race, the Spaniard Augusto Fernandez won ahead of Brad Binder (RSA) and Luca Marini (ITA). Fernandez benefited from the crash of the two leaders Alex Marquez and Lorenzo Baldassari 2 laps before the end. The new World Championship leader is the Swiss Tom Lüthi, who finished the race in 4th place.

Yamaha made an exclamation mark at the MotoGP race in Assen. The Spaniard Maverick Vinales celebrated a confident victory, ahead of Marc Marquez (ESP) and Fabio Quartararo (FRA).
