Excitement in MotoGP: Bagnaia collides with Marquez

Motorcycle world champion Francesco Bagnaia lost the overall lead in the second race of the season after a collision with Marc Márquez.

The Ducati rider got on his bike again on Sunday in Portimao, Portugal, but gave up a short time later. His brand colleague Jorge Martín secured victory. Bagnaia's teammate Enea Bastianini came second ahead of newcomer Pedro Acosta (GasGas). The 19-year-old Spaniard is the third youngest pilot to make it onto the podium in the premier class.

In the duel for fifth place, Bagnaia touched his Ducati colleague and both fell. Bagnaia got on his plane again, but gave up a short time later. He fell behind in the overall ranking with 37 points to fourth place behind vice world champion Martin (60), Binder (42) and Bastianini (39). Acosta follows in fifth place (28th). The third race is scheduled for April 14th in Austin, USA.
