Motorcycle World Championship: No races outside Europe

The world motorcycle association FIM, the team association IRTA and the World Cup marketer Dorna announced this on Friday. An additional race, 14th for the premier class MotoGP and 15th for Moto2 and Moto3, is scheduled to take place on November 22nd. The venue will be announced on August 10th. The decision means that the races in Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia, which have not yet been finally canceled, will also be canceled in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. The contract with the organizers in Thailand has now been extended until 2026. Moto2 and Moto3 started the season on March 8th in Qatar, the MotoGP pilots made their debut this year on July 19th in Jerez/Spain. It continues on August 9th in Brno/Czech Republic, with all classes completing twelve more races. Originally 20 runs were planned.
