Spielberg victory leads over Ducati Armada

Despite the new braking chicane, victory in MotoGP at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2022 will only come from the Ducati Armada. Italian Enea Bastianini led a procession of five bikes from the dominant Italian brand in the top six on his pole debut on Saturday. Only world champion Fabio Quartarao broke through the dominance in fifth place with his Yamaha.

Ducati in particular is chasing the riders' title with an eight-man armada and increasingly spectacular aerodynamic wings on the bikes. The last and only one came in 2007 by the Australian Casey Stoner. Aleix Espargaro, another Aprilia driver, is breathing down Quartararo's neck. The Spaniard is the only one to have scored points in all 12 races so far, and he also achieved his first triumph for Aprilia in his 200th GP in Argentina in April, as well as his first triumph in the 350th MotoGP race.
