Motorcycle national champion 2018 awarded in Bolzano

The South Tyrolean FMI President Marco Bolzonello, his deputy Veronika Mur and General Secretary Ciro Carratù were able to meet, among others, the state president of CONI, Heinz Gutweniger, the sports assessor of the municipality of Bolzano, Angelo Gennaccaro, the board member of the national motorsport, in the packed meeting room of the House of Sports on Verdiplatz in Bolzano Association, Luigi Favarato and State Councilor Martha Stocker. The highlight of the celebration was the awarding of the 2018 motorcycle national champions. The pilots of the traditional Scuderia Dolomiti club once again dominated the enduro. Seven of the eight national championship titles went to President Ezio Zermiani's club. His pilots showed themselves to be very strong in all age categories, only the young Jakob Pertoll from the Trial Team South Tyrol was able to win the Junior 2T. Otherwise, Andrea Rosato (Senior 250 4T), Nicola Paolazzi (Expert 2T) and Mauro Preghenella (Expert 4T) celebrated category wins. As in the previous year, Stefan Schröck was at the top among the veterans, Riccardo Battistin and Claudio Lucadamo won among the super and ultra veterans respectively.

In the trial, almost exclusively the pilots from the Trial Team South Tyrol and the Motoclub Neumarkt made people sit up and take notice. Both clubs also organized very successful national races this year. Richard Pichler's TT South Tyrol secured eight of the 13 national championship titles this season: Curious: Even the president himself won a title. As in the previous year, Pichler won the TR3 category. In the ranks of the TT South Tyrol, young athletes such as Fabian Pfattner, Alex Rauch, Laia Pichler and Marc Laimer also showed strong performances and were crowned national champions in the youth categories B, C, D and D1. Competition for the TT Südtirol came from Motoclub Neumarkt, which won five titles in the Unterland with Alberto Nadalini (TR4 Over 40), Giorgio Eccher (TR5 Over 40), Ugo Alberti (ME), Samuel Kofler (Junior A) and Emily Nadalini (Junior C1). brought.

The Neumarkt Motoclub also won three national championship titles in motocross. The young Markus Niedermair won the Junior 125cc, while Armin Dalvai and Helmuth Braun were at the top of the MX1 Rider and Veteran Over 40 categories respectively. Luca Borz defended his title at the MX2 Expert last year. The Nonstaler from Branzoller Motoclub FerLu Racing dominated the season from the start and in the end was ahead of Andreas Maier from MC Meran. Borz's teammates, Thomas Bertoldi (MX1 Expert) and Mattia Carolli (MX1 Challenge) were also crowned the new national champions. Alex Gruber from AMC Brixen as well as Martin Lantschner from ST and Lucas Spano from MC Meran also won convincing category victories. Titles also went to Christof Leitner (AMC Bressanone), Andrea Asinari (Scuderia Dolimiti), Michael Thaler (TT Südtirol) and series winner Norbert Lantschner from MC Evergreen.

The “South Tyrol Trophy 2018” was also a complete success this season. These organized tours consisted of three races: the “Unterland Crono” took place in the village center of Neumarkt, the other two stages were the historic “Motogiro delle Dolomiti” from the Motoclub Motor's Sporting Laives and the “Cronomerenda” in Bolzano (Motoclub Lorenzo Ghiselli). A total of four categories were evaluated. The drivers from the Bolzano club Lorenzo Ghiselli celebrated a double victory. Roberto Pelanda won the classic cars, his teammate Mauro Delaiti won the modern motorcycles. Salvatore Ieriaci and Paolo Franceschetto, both from the Vespa Club Bozen, grabbed the winner's trophy in the classic car and modern scooter categories respectively.
