Motorcycle national champion awarded in Bolzano

The South Tyrolean FMI President Marco Bolzonello, his deputy Veronika Mur and General Secretary Ciro Carratù were able to meet, among others, the state president of CONI, Heinz Gutweniger, the sports assessor of the municipality of Bolzano, Angelo Gennaccaro, the board member of the national motorsport, in the packed meeting room of the House of Sports on Verdiplatz in Bolzano -Association, Luigi Favarato and regional councilor welcomed the Trentino FMI President Nicola Versini. Bolzonello recalled that his national committee has now grown to 892 members, with 12 registered associations. “We have had a very positive year. Our races also went down well. The pilots made people sit up and take notice at both the regional and national level, which is a huge success,” says Bolzonello happily.

The highlight of the celebration was the awarding of the 2019 motorcycle national champions. The pilots from the Trial Team South Tyrol and the traditional Scuderia Dolomiti club once again dominated the enduro. Four of the eight national championship titles went to the club from Bolzano. The Scuderia Dolomiti drivers Roberto Consolini (Expert 2T), Giuliano Dal Cortivo (Expert 4T) and Mario Tadini (Ultraveteran) all celebrated category victories. As in the previous year, Stefan Schröck was at the top of the veteran list this year. Four titles also went to the TT South Tyrol: Jakob Pertoll won the Senior 2, Martin Inama prevailed in the Junior 2 competition. Thomas Ruatti (Master 2T) and Dietmar Sparer (super veteran) are also national champions.

In the trial, only the pilots from the Trial Team South Tyrol and the Motoclub Neumarkt made people sit up and take notice. Both clubs also organized very successful national races this year. Richard Pichler's TT South Tyrol secured seven of the eleven national championship titles: This year, however, the president himself “only” had to settle for second place in the TR2 category behind Giuseppe Zeni. In the ranks of the TT South Tyrol, young athletes such as Lukas Thaler, Marian Messner and Patrick Bassi also showed strong performances and were crowned national champions in the youth categories B, C and Open. The only competition for the TT Südtirol was the Motoclub Neumarkt, which brought four titles to the Unterland with Alberto Nadalini (TR3 Over 4), Giorgio Eccher (TR40 Expert), Ugo Alberti (Vintage) and Claudio Muraro (TR5 Over 5).

There were five titles for the MC Evergreen in motocross. David Untersalmberger won the MX1 Challenge, while Thomas Arnoldo, Georg Falser, Peter Plattner and series winner Norbert Lantschner were at the top in the MX1 Expert, MX2 Fast, Veterans O40 and O48. The AMC Brixen also did very well, winning three titles in the youth categories. Lukas Messner won among the debutants, Simon Pircher and Fabian Stuppner in the Junior and Junior 125 categories. Mirco Sandri from the Branzoller Motoclub FerLu Rancing was at the top in the MX1 Rider category, his teammate Thomas Bertoldi (MX1 Fast) was also chosen new national champion. Lucas Caregnato (MX2 Challenge) and Maximilian Pichler (MX2 Expert), both from the Motoclub Meran, also took convincing category wins. Titles also went to Lukas Tschager (TT Südtirol), Andrea Asinari (Scuderia Dolomiti) and Fabian Schwarz from Motoclub Neumarkt.

The “South Tyrol Trophy 2019” was once again a complete success. These organized tours consisted of three races: the “Unterland Crono” took place in Neumarkt, the other two stages were the historic “Motogiro delle Dolomiti” from the Motor's Sporting Laives Motoclub and the “Cronomerenda” in Bolzano (Lorenzo Ghiselli Motoclub). A total of four categories were evaluated. The drivers from the Bolzano club Lorenzo Ghiselli celebrated a double victory. Valter Calliari won the classic cars, his teammate Alessandro Ossana won the modern motorcycles. Riccardo Rossi from ST and Alberto Bordin from Vespa Club Bozen grabbed the winner's trophy in the modern scooter and vintage car categories respectively.
