Six races in nine days: Formula E resumes the season in Berlin

The FIA, the world automobile association, confirmed this on Wednesday. The season was interrupted after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe; the last of five events so far took place on February 29th in Marrakesh/Morocco. The races in the German capital are to be held as a “double header” on the site of the former Tempelhof Airport without spectators. The dates are the 5th/6th. August, the 8th/9th August and the 12th/13th Scheduled for August. The route should be changed after every two races. The winner of the 2019/20 season in the all-electric racing series will be determined after the last double pack. "Since the start of Formula E six years ago, Berlin is the only city that has been included in the international racing calendar every year. In this year determined by the pandemic, Berlin is the only Formula E metropolis in Europe," said Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller: "I I'm glad that we will continue to be a reliable partner in the pioneering electric racing series in 2020." In order to minimize the risk of a possible corona infection, racers and employees must adhere to strict safety and hygiene measures such as regular testing for the virus or the mandatory wearing of mouth and nose protection. Only a maximum of 1000 people are allowed on site.
