“Very pretty”: Red Bull presents the 2018 RB14 car

Milton Keynes (SID) Red Bull Racing was the first top team to present its racing car for the new Formula 1 season. With the “Red Bull Renault RB14” the racing team wants to overtake Mercedes and Ferrari again. Red Bull first presented the car, in whose design star designer Adrian Newey played a major role, online on Monday before it took to the track for the first time in Silverstone. This means that Red Bull is ready for use much more quickly than last year, when the car was only ready for testing in Barcelona and had to be repeatedly improved over the course of the season. “We gave the engineers an earlier deadline based on our experience last year,” said Red Bull motorsport consultant Helmut Marko: “This time there is no trepidation as to whether we will even make it to the first test.” Max Verstappen, one of the favorites for the World Cup crown for many experts, called the car "very pretty" and added: "Hopefully it's fast too. Unfortunately it also has the halo (Formula 1's new cockpit protection, editor's note), "It's really ugly. But we hope that the car is a step forward and that we will be quick, especially from the start of the season, and not be left behind like last year." When it comes to design, Red Bull is breaking new ground with the RB14 and choosing a different color combination, which is still secret. The official livery will only be visible in Barcelona (February 26th to March 1st). Before Red Bull, the Haas and Williams racing teams had already presented their cars for the 2018 season. Mercedes and Ferrari will present their cars on Thursday.
