Target Competition: A win and a podium finish in Imola

The Dutchman Niels Langeveld was once again able to achieve an excellent result in qualifying with a 2nd place. The other Target drivers Cesare Brusa came in P6, Francesca Raffaele in P19 - an excellent result with 37 participants. Brusa was later relegated to 11th for violating a red flag. Guest starter Edoardo Cappello in 20th place rounded off a good team result. In the first race on Saturday, Langeveld got off to a very good start and was able to take the lead before the first corner. A lead that he didn't relinquish until the end and was able to achieve his third win of the current season. With this triumph, the fight for the title will be extremely exciting again with 3 races still to go, at this point only 29 points separate Langeveld from the leader Salvatore Tavano. Cesare Brusa moved into position, while Francesca Raffaele gained a few positions and finished the race in 15th place. Brusa races onto the podium In the second race on Sunday, Langeveld started from position 2 due to the reverse grid rule, in which the first 8 starting positions in qualifying start the race in reverse order. He started a furious race to catch up and crossed the finish line in fourth place. However, since his opponent for the championship, Salvatore Tavano, came in second place, he lost a few points in a direct comparison. Cesare Brusa drove an incredible race; starting from 7th place on the grid, he achieved a well-deserved podium place with 2rd place. The next, final and decisive races of the season will take place in Vallelunga from September 4th to 3th.

Having just returned from the TCR Europe race at the Nürburgring, the Target team from Andrian went straight on to Imola. Two rounds of the TCR Italy Championship were held here.
