E-Rally: Team Autotest Motorsport is aiming for the championship lead in Portugal

Pilot Guido Guerrini and co-driver Francesca Olivoni from the South Tyrolean racing team Autotest Motorsport from Völlan subjected the Volkswagen ID.4 to a long-distance test before the demanding race in Portugal. From Bolzano we went to Nice. “The autonomy specified by the factory of 350 kilometers under full load is also correct in the practical test,” says Guerrini with satisfaction, “when driving defensively, just over 500 kilometers are possible.” The long-distance test was also about fine-tuning the car in detail and getting to know it better. Guerrini/Olivoni in the south of France had to abandon their plan to travel to Portugal with the vehicle at short notice because some fast charging stations on site were not working. The risk of not arriving in Europe's westernmost country on time would have been too great. Therefore, the Autotest Motorsport team will start the race in Portugal with a replacement car. End losing streak in Portugal In Portugal, Guerrini/Olivoni want to take the lead in the World Cup standings. However, Guerrini still has unfinished business with Portugal, as the 43-year-old has never made it into the points in Oeiras. In 2018 he was in 3rd place until the racing instruments failed, in 2019 he was ranked as leader and fell back to 11th place due to a mistake at the start. Guerrini is currently only 21 points behind the leading duo Eneko Conde Pujana (ESP) and Michal Zdarsky (POL) in the pilots' standings with 1,5 points. The same picture in the ranking of the co-drivers: Olivoni in third place is 1,5 points behind the leaders Lorenzo Serrano Gallegos (ESP) and Jacub Nabelek (CZE). Volkswagen is in second place in the constructors' championship with 30 points.
