Successful weekend for Target Competition at the Red Bull Ring

In qualifying, in which 29 vehicles took part, Josh Files was able to secure second place on the grid. The other Target Competition drivers were ranked as follows after qualifying: Mato Homola 12th, Dusan Borkovic 14th, Andreas Bäckman 15th and Jessica Bäckman 23rd.

The first race, which lasted 23 minutes (+ one lap), took place on Saturday. As usual, Josh Files had a great start and was able to take the lead in the first corner. Due to a racing accident involving a participant, the safety car was sent onto the race track. But Files dominated the entire race and was the first to see the checkered flag. Dusan Borkovic was able to work his way up from 14th position to an excellent sixth place. Mato Homola took the checkered flag in ninth place, while Andreas Bäckman ended up in twelfth place. Jessica Bäckman was involved in an accident and was eliminated.

The second race on Sunday was declared a “wet race” because it started to rain. The top ten started in reverse order in the second race. Rain specialist Josh Files managed a strong race from ninth starting position, which was ultimately rewarded with second place. Mato Homola (6th) and Andreas Bäckman (9th) also drove a strong race and scored valuable points. Dusan Borkovic and Jessica Bäckman, however, were involved in accidents that were not their fault on the wet and slippery race track and were unable to finish the race.

Files leads the overall standings Josh Files leads the drivers' championship with 194 points. Second place, Luca Englster, currently has 158 points, while Julian Briché in third place has 154 points.

Target Competition (464 points) also leads the team rankings with a comfortable lead of 185 points.

The next TCR Europe race weekend will take place on March 3rd/4th. August in Oschersleben (Germany).

Successful weekend for Target Competition at the Red Bull Ring

This weekend, races seven and eight of the season took place at the Red Bull Ring (in Spielberg/Austria) as part of the TCR Europe racing series. The South Tyrolean team Target Competition from Andrian took part with its five Hyundai N i30 TCRs and drivers from four nations.
