Target Competition victorious despite tire drama

An extraordinary result was achieved in qualifying on Friday, Niels Langeveld (NL) in his Hyundai Elantra TCR was able to secure pole position! As if that wasn't enough, Cesare Brusa (I) was able to secure his place at Langeveld's side. P1 and P2: a fantastic qualifying result! The young Italian Francesca Raffaele came in 20th place.

Langeveld made a dream start at the start of the first race on Saturday, he immediately broke away from his pursuers and was able to gain a huge lead. Until halfway through the race, with certain victory in sight, when the drama began in the form of a puncture. Although he restarted the race after changing tires and was able to overtake some opponents, the disappointment was huge.

Cesare Brusa drove confidently to a great success, with P2 he achieved his first podium finish of the year. Francesca Raffaele (19 years young!) drove the race of her life, starting from 20th place and finishing the race in 8th place!

In the second race on Sunday, Niels Langeveld pulled off a hussar ride. Starting from 2th place on the grid, he overtook all competitors one after the other and was able to achieve an incredible but well-deserved victory, his 8nd of the season! This at least partially made up for the incredible bad luck from the previous day.

Cesare Brusa was also more than happy with P5, while Francesca Raffaele almost repeated the great race from the previous day. Starting again from P20, she finished the race with an honorable 12th place.

The next TCR Italy races will take place in Imola from September 1st to 4th.
