South Tyrol will also be the venue for all winter sports events in 2012-13

Alpine skiing:

The men's World Cup circus stops in South Tyrol twice, namely in Val Gardena and Alta Badia. A Super-G and a downhill run on the Saslong will take place on December 14th and 15th. On the Gran Risa, however, only one giant slalom will be held on December 16th. The World Cup women will not be heading to South Tyrol next season, but Cortina d'Ampezzo will be taking place from 19th to 20th. January 2013 will be the venue for a World Cup.

The 2012/13 European Cup calendar, on the other hand, stipulates that EC races will be held in four different ski strongholds in South Tyrol: Obereggen (December 12th), St. Vigil (December 17th) and Reinswald (January 28th to February 1st). for men and San Candido (February 6th to 7th) for women.

Nordic skiing:

The Hochpustertal has established itself in the cross-country skiing world: On the sidelines of the FIS Congress in South Korea, Toblach was confirmed as a fixed date in the World Cup calendar. Next winter, the Tour de Ski will stop in Pustertal on January 3rd and 4th. The program includes the pursuit race from Cortina to Toblach and the following day a 3 km race for women and a 5 km competition for men. South Tyrol does not have the necessary facilities for Nordic combined and ski jumping, but Fiemme Valley, which is located near South Tyrol, is the venue for the Nordic Combined World Championships (February 22nd - March 02nd).

Ski cross:

In the up-and-coming sport of ski cross, a World Cup race will take place at the Haunold in San Candido, like last year: from December 22nd to 23rd, the ski crossers will set up camp in Hochpustertal.

Ski tours:

This year the ski touring World Cup will not take place in the Martelltal as usual, but a World Cup race is planned for the beginning of January in Weißenbach, in the Ahrntal. The “Marmotta Trophy” will then be added to the World Cup calendar again in the 2013-14 season.

Biathlon:

This year too, Björndalen & Co. are heading to the Biahtlon Mecca at the foot of the Hochgall. The World Cup in Antholz begins on Thursday, January 17th with the spectacular women's sprint race. The men's sprint follows the next day. The pursuit races are on the program on Saturday and the South Tyrolean World Cup week ends with the relay races on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Martell, on the other hand, will host an IBU Cup from February 1st to 3rd.

Snowboarding:

In the 2012-13 season, a local World Cup stage is also on the agenda for the South Tyrolean snowboarders. The giant slalom takes place on December 21st at the Karerpass. It is not yet clear whether there will be a race the following day.

Tobogganing:

There is no artificial track in South Tyrol, but the toboggan elite will stop in Cesana, the only track on Italian soil, from December 01st to 02nd. Deutschnofen, on the other hand, will be the venue for the Natural Track Luge World Championships (probably at the end of January). The official calendar is still pending, but World Cups are planned for Laas (December 28th - 30th) and Latsch (in January), as well as a European Cup in Ulten.
