Moritz Trocker missed a historic opportunity

The 18-year-old from Völs had to admit defeat to the Swiss Adam Moundir (ATP 958) 2:6, 0:6 in the quarterfinals.

For Trocker it was the second ITF quarterfinal of his career. Two months ago in Monastir he narrowly lost to Alexis Klegou from Benin in three sets 2:6, 6:3, 2:6, but on Friday morning he had no chance against Moundir in Egypt. Trocker was 0:3 behind in the first set, but was then able to reduce it to 2:4. After that, nothing worked at all and the Völser lost eight games in a row. Moundir used his second match point after just 51 minutes of play to win 6:2, 6:0. The Swiss had already eliminated Joy Vigani from Brixen 6:3, 7:5 in the starting round.

Trocker therefore has to wait for his first individual semi-final on the ITF tour. In the doubles, however, he reached the semi-finals in Sharm El Sheikh a month ago, but strangely enough, he was eliminated here with Giovanni Calvano against Moundir and the Pole Zuk.
