A breath of fresh air on this year's Dolomites cycle tour

In the first week of August, South Tyrol's pass roads will once again belong to the hundreds of cyclists from more than 30 different nations who will take part in the Dolomites cycling tour. The Dolomites cycling tour will take place for the first time on Saturday, August 5th with a team time trial with five riders per team along the South Tyrolean Wine route completed. “We are pursuing two goals with this team time trial. On the one hand, individual participants who get to know other cyclists during the race can join together to form a team. On the other hand, companies or clubs have the option of only tackling the time trial if they cannot take part in the Dolomites cycle tour beforehand. The team time trial should be a colorful conclusion to our week-long event,” says the new OC boss Simon Kofler.

Six tough stages

The Dolomites cycling tour begins on Sunday, July 30th with the first stage Plose (126 kilometers/1919 meters in altitude). The second part (July 31st) follows the cyclists Maria Weissenstein (145 km/1560 m). At the Passo Valles in Trentino The timed ascent of the third stage ends on August 1st (142 km/2940 hm), before a rest day on Wednesday, August 2nd.

The Penser yoke The participants have to climb as part of the fourth stage on August 3rd (143 km/1968 hm) before climbing on Friday, August 4th Fedaia Pass goes (120 km/2881 m). Cyclists can tackle all six stages (Long Giro) or start the fourth stage on the Penser Joch from Thursday (Short Giro). Who, on the other hand, only on Time trial (Crono) can purchase a day ticket. Participation in individual stages is also possible.
