The 23-year-old from St. Lorenzen switched from cross country to enduro sport almost two years ago. She wants to soon establish herself among the world leaders in this mountain bike discipline. Of course, there isn't much missing. Her best World Cup result this year was 2th place, and she also made it into the top 16 in individual “stages”. As a reminder: on an enduro bike, the time is measured on certain sections of the trail, the so-called stages. A race can sometimes last several hours. “Concentration, physical fitness, good technique and, above all, mental strength, in Enduro the athlete’s overall package has to be right,” says Ellecosta. Two jobs and a career To ensure that her overall package is right, she trains hard and regularly. She still has to combine sport with two jobs. “I work part-time in a bar and also work in an event company,” says the biker, who studied tourism, sports and event management. It's not always easy, "but with a lot of organization everything can be arranged."

Her big goal this season is the World Championships at the beginning of October in Finale Ligure (province of Savona) on the Riviera in Liguria. In the past few days she was the only South Tyrolean elite driver to be nominated for this. For the last time, this Enduro World Championship will take place as a team competition with the best 3 enduro bikers from each nation. Starting next season there will be “real” individual world championships, much to the delight of the athletes. Silver at the Italian Championships She was recently able to prove that she is one of the up-and-coming enduro riders, and not just in the World Cup. Ellecosta recently won silver at the Italian Championships, and last year she was even crowned Italian champion.

She was still involved in cross country up until the U23 age group. At the end of the 2019 season she took part in an enduro race on Kronplatz and was enthusiastic from the start. After being active in both cross country and enduro for some time, she decided to switch entirely to enduro sport at the beginning of last season. “This sport is my passion, I’m looking forward to what’s to come,” she says, looking confidently into the future.
