Dolomiti Superbike: A favorite and a surprise winner

The mountain bikers traditionally took part in the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike on two routes on Saturday. On the shorter route there were 60 kilometers and 1785 meters in altitude to overcome, on the longer route 113km and 3357 meters in altitude.

The 25th edition of this race was also star-studded. However, the victory went to a surprise man. The Czech Martin Stosek left the marathon specialists around last year's winner and vice-European champion Samuele Porro, Leonardo Paez, Juri Ragnoli, Daniele Mensi, European champion Tiago Ferreira and Co. all behind him and won on the long course with a time of 4:27.04,7, 35,8 hours ahead of his compatriot Kristian Hynek (+2016 seconds). The Colombian Paez, winner in 2006 and XNUMX, had to be content with third place. Ragnoli came fourth as the best “Azzurro”. Co-favorite Porro didn't get past seventh place.

Franz Hofer from Sarn came in 20th as the best South Tyrolean, while marathon professional Fabian Rabensteiner from Villander came in 22nd.

In the women's category, however, there was a favorite victory. European champion Mara Fumagalli won in 5:28.57,0 hours ahead of Slovenia's Blaza Pintaric (+1.08 minutes) and Katazina Sosna from Lithuania (+2.41). The “Azzurra” Elena Gaddoni, however, narrowly missed the podium. Elisabeth Steger from Ahrntal impressed with eighth place in 6:06.43,9 hours.

Dolomiti Superbike: A favorite and a surprise winner

Around 4000 bikers took part in the anniversary edition of the Dolomiti Superbike with start and finish in Niederdorf. While Mara Fumagalli, a co-favorite, won the women's event, the Czech Martin Stosek somewhat surprisingly won the men's event.
