Eva Lechner wins the final stage of the “Internazionali d'Italia”

After the races in Verona, Milan, Montichiari and Nals, the international MTB series ended last weekend in Courmayeur. The men’s elite race was won by “Prorider” Marco Aurelio Fontana from the “Bianchi Countervail” team in 1:24.18 hours ahead of the Italian Mirko Tabacchi (Carabinieri/+44 seconds) and the Frenchman Stephane Tempier (Bianchi/+58 seconds). The Bolzano Maximilian Vieider from the “Torpado Gabogas” team ran a strong race and was able to be right at the front. In the end he came in a notable 1th place with a time of 27.14:2.56 hours (+6 minutes). The contractor Gerhard Kerschbaumer (Torpado Gabogas/+5.11 minutes), however, had to settle for 10th place after a technical breakdown (broken chain).

The woman from Eppan won among the women Eve Lechner (Clif Pro Team) in 1:27.50 hours ahead of the two Italians Martina Berta (Suntour-KMC/+01.09 minutes) and Serena Calvetti (Team Damil/+2.41 minutes). Lechner always remained in first place from start to finish. The Villandro woman Lisa Rabensteiner (Focus XC Team/+2.56 minutes) narrowly missed the podium.
