Successful return for the Sarner bike tour

“We are very satisfied, even if there were not as many participants as at the last event in 2016,” says Walter Perkmann, managing director of the Sarntal Tourism Association and head of the event’s OC. On the Almrausch & Edelbike bike tour, the focus is not on the completion time, but rather on cycling with like-minded people. “A lot of contacts were made and friendships were made again. The participants stayed in the huts for a long time and had a great time,” says Perkmann with satisfaction.

Above all, the weather gods meant well for the organizers and the participants. Bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures made the Sarnen mountain panorama look even more impressive and ensured completely satisfied faces. “Everything really worked out. The weather was great, no one was injured, the starter package arrived very well and the huts were also happy. The comeback was definitely a success,” says Perkmann happily. Lots of e-bikers What particularly struck him was the high proportion of e-bikers who pedaled at the eighth edition of the Almrausch & Edelbike. “A good 85 percent were on e-bikes. The majority of participants have also completed the Gold Tour. “Around 30 even started the Super Gold Tour,” says Perkmann. On the Super Gold Tour, participants go to the finish of the Gold Tour on the Waidmann Alm and then on to the Kuhleiten Hut. This seven kilometer long extra path leads steeply up around 230 meters.

Most of the Almrausch & Edelbike participants came from the Trentino/South Tyrol region, but some from abroad also ended up in the Sarntal. “There were a few guests from Allgäu and Rosenheim,” reports Perkmann. The managing director of the Sarntal Tourism Association was also pleased to have two guests of honor: “Bettina Ravanelli and Eugen Messina, the two organizers of the Giro delle Dolomiti, went along. They were very impressed with our bike tour. Such praise is of course something special for us.”

The same applies to the huts involved - the Almschank Öttenbacher Alm, the Mittager-Hütte, the Kirchsteiger Alm, the Möltner Kaser, the Gasthaus Lanzenschuster and the Bergasthaus Putzer Kreuz. “Of course, a big thank you goes to all of our sponsors, especially the main sponsor, the Raffeisenkasse Sarntal,” concludes Perkmann.
