Greta Seiwald with another top 10 place

As part of the last World Cup stage of this season, the short track races took place in Snowshoe on Friday night (CEST). Seiwald has already proven that she can play a good role in these short races with 7th place at the World Cup in Les Gets, France, at the beginning of July, and 9th place at the World Cup in Sulzberg (Val di Sole). Now she once again set an exclamation mark with another top 10 place: with a time of 22.33 minutes she landed in 10th place, just 21 seconds behind the victorious Evie Richards (USA). Seiwald was also the best Azzurra. Martina Berta landed in 12th place (+40). The Swiss Jolanda Neff and Jenny Rissveds took second and third place behind the victorious Richards. For Seiwald and Co., the cross-country races continue on Sunday at the end of the season. In the men's race, victory went to Frenchman Victor Koretzky. With a time of 22.05 minutes, he left the Brazilian Henrique Avancini (+3) and the Swiss Filippo Colombo (+9) behind him. As the Italian team's best starter, Luca Braidot ended up in 8th place (+9). Seiwald is the only South Tyrolean at the World Cup final in the USA. Downhiller Veronika Widmann fell during a training run in Snowshoe and had to end the season early. The cross-country specialists Eva Lechner and Gerhard Kerschbaumer had already decided in advance not to travel to the USA. “Gery” and his wife are expecting their second child, so he wants to stay close to them. Lechner is taking a short break and then preparing for the upcoming cross-country season.
