Greta Weithaler also on the podium at Sulzberg

Greta Weithaler took third place on Saturday morning. The two-time World Cup winner in the junior age group only had to admit defeat to the Russian Olga Terentyeva and the “Azzurra” Emilie Collomb. Terentyeva crossed the finish line after 1:12.07 hours and was 33,2 seconds faster than Collomb and the South Tyrolean rider from the Ötzi Bike Team. Weithaler was not completely fit on Saturday, she had told national coach Pallhuber that before the start. Nevertheless, she fought like a lioness and was rewarded for her perseverance in the end.

With Chiara Teocchi (6th) and Serena Tasca (8th), two more riders from the Italian national team made it into the top ten and rounded off the excellent result of the juniors. Franziska Tanner, however, came in 16th place (+10.08 minutes), while Denise Meraner took 17th place (+11.10 minutes).

The Ukrainian Yana Belomoyna prevailed in the U23 age group. She crossed the finish line after 1:22.45 hours. Rebecca Henderson (Australia) and Andrea Waldis from Switzerland, who drives for the Colnago South Tyrol team, took the places of honor. Lisa Rabensteiner crossed the finish line 11.01 minutes behind Belomoyna and came in 18th. Julia Innerhofer, however, gave up. Rabensteiner and Innerhofer both drive for the Colnago South Tyrol team.

Greta Weithaler also on the podium at Sulzberg

After victories in the first two World Cup races of the season in Albstadt (GER) and Nove Mesto na Morave (CZE), the 17-year-old from Naturns once again achieved a top result in the “home World Cup” at Sulzberg (Val di Sole).
