Kerschbaumer narrowly misses the podium

In the sprint race, Henrique Avancini (BRA) came out on top with a time of 21.07 minutes, just ahead of Nino Schurte (SUI) and Maxime Marotte (FRA). The top three were separated by just one second. Vice world champion Gerhard Kerschbaumer crossed the finish line in fourth place, another second behind.

In the women's race, Switzerland celebrated a double victory with Jolanda Neff (22.40) and Alessandra Keller (22.41), third place went to the American Kate Courtney (3). Eva Lechner from Eppan ended up in 22.41th place (12) behind her teammate Chiara Teocchi.

The qualification for the Downhill World Cup was also on the agenda on Friday, with Traminer Veronika Widmann confirming her good form with 5th place. Nina Hoffmann (GER) drove the fastest qualifying time.

In the men's qualifying category, the best time went to Loic Bruni (FRA), Johannes von Klebelsberg from Bozen achieved the 9th time.

The downhill race is scheduled for Saturday, the cross-country race follows on Sunday.
