Kronplatz King the second at the weekend

The two routes you can choose from are 81 km (3310 m) and 50 km (2150 m). The trademarks of the “Kronplatz King” also include the four freeride routes. The final part is the up to 26% steep stretch of road from the Geiselsbergerhütte, which also made the professionals of the Giro d'Italia sweat twice. To ensure the safety of participants, the number of participants was limited to 600.

The race is given particular weight by the participation of well-known and successful athletes from various countries, above all the former MTB marathon world champion and last year's winner Roel Paulissen from Belgium, as well as the multiple Italian champion and last year's winner Elena Gaddoni from Italy. This year, the newly crowned Italian champion Maria Cristina Nisi could cause a sensation among the women, although Poland's Michalina Ziolkowska, the still strong Katrin Schwing from Germany and her compatriot Silke Keinath can definitely have a say. In the men's category, another group of athletes could certainly be among the title contenders, with Daniele Mensi, Luca Ronchi, Tony Longo and the South Tyroleans Johannes Schweiggl, Manuel Felder and Philipp Überbacher.

One athlete will certainly be a force to be reckoned with on the short route: Hubert Pallhuber, MTB marathon world champion in 1986 and head coach of the Italian MTB national team until last year. He and his younger brother and former national biker Hannes (both ride for the RH Racing team of Roel Paulissen and Hannes Pallhuber) want to know and have specifically prepared for this “home race”.

Kronplatz King the second at the weekend

On Sunday the Kronplatz King MTB Marathon will take place again with its unusual finish at the highest point of the race, namely the Kronplatz summit at 2275 m above sea level. As last year, the start will take place in the village center of St. Vigil in Enneberg.
