Nals is looking forward to a special anniversary

In just under two weeks, the Internazionali d'Italia Series will move to South Tyrol for the third stage, which will take place in Nals on Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, 11th. The years pass, but the charm remains unchanged: the Marlene Sunshine Race, king of the Italian mountain bike classics, celebrates the 20th edition of a prestigious history marked by the biggest stars of the international cross-country scene. The event in Nals was able to confirm the HC 'Hors Catégorie' category again in 2021, a recognition of the great work of the proven Sunshine Racers Nals organizational team. There will be some changes to the Marlene Sunshine Race course for 2021. As always, the climb over the Nachtigallenweg and the subsequent Ganterer descent represent the crucial junctions of the route. For logistical reasons, some changes had to be made in the last part and in the start/finish area, but the route remains technically very demanding. Hopes rest on Kerschbaumer & Co. As always, the big stars are expected in Nals - Stephane Tempier and Sina Frei won the Open in 2019 - as well as the best young riders in the junior category at the first Italian race of the UCI Junior Series (La Thuile follows as the second date). “We will certainly celebrate the 20th edition in a very special way,” explains Sunshine Racers Nals President Florian Pallweber, “for us it is a great success and we are working to ensure maximum safety for athletes and employees . Some course changes are inevitable, but the most important thing is to start again. We expect a lot from our local heroes Eva Lechner, Greta Seiwald and Gerhard Kerschbaumer: However, it will not be an easy game with this international and top-class field of participants.” The Marlene Südtirol Sunshine Race program is divided into two racing days. On Saturday, April 10th, the competitions of the Internazionali d'Italia series are scheduled (the men's UCI Junior Series race at 9.00 a.m., the women's UCI Junior Series and Open races at 11.00 a.m. and the Open men's race at 13.00 p.m.). The youth competitions are on the program on Sunday, April 11th.
