Paez is the hero – Kerschbaumer on the podium

The Hero Dolomites, with start and finish in Wolkenstein, is his race: record winner Leonardo Hector Paez once again impressively demonstrated this on Saturday. The Colombian won after 86 kilometers with a time of 4:33.52 hours. Second place went to his compatriot Diego Alfonso Arias Cuervo (2:4).

The Verdinger cross-country specialist Gerhard Kerschbaumer showed that he can also compete at the front in such marathons and finished in a strong 4rd place in 41.20:3 hours. The Swiss Urs Huber narrowly missed the podium in 4th place.

In the women's category, the German Adelheid Morath confidently won the elite race over 60 kilometers in 3:50.45 hours. Second place went to the Italian Debora Piani (2:4), while her compatriot Elena Gaddoni took third place. Sara Mazzorana won the women's long distance (06km) in 3:86 hours. Fontana takes second place In the men's short distance (60km), the Italian Lorenzo Trincheri was unbeatable and won in 3:30.04 hours. Klaus Fontana from Olanger, who won the first HERO in 2009, finished 1.58 minutes behind in second place.

In total, more than 2300 mountain bikers took part in the various categories. However, some marathon aces were missing due to the European Championships taking place on Sunday: Among others, the reigning Italian champion, Fabian Rabensteiner from Villandro, is attacking in the Czech Republic. Paez is the hero – Kerschbaumer on the podium

The Colombian Leonardo Paez has won the HERO Dolomites for the 7th time. Gerhard Kerschbaumer also knew how to convince in Val Gardena.
