Starting signal for the VSS mountain bikers in Nals

“Our main focus this year is once again on versatility,” emphasizes VSS cycling speaker Erwin Schuster. There are seven different disciplines in which the young bikers compete. In addition to cross country and obstacle races, there is also a time trial, an Easy4Cross, an eliminator race as well as easy down and dual competitions. Additionally, the highlights include a night race in Naturns and a parent race in Klausen.

Since the Pusterer took over the VSS department in 2003, things have been going uphill. Last year, for the first time in the history of the VSS/Raiffeisen Youth Trophy, the barrier of 250 participants was broken - in the race in Sarnthein, 273 participants took part.

In the 2017 season, the country's young mountain bikers can look forward to a total of 18 decisions in 14 South Tyrolean communities across the country. As has now become tradition, the grand finale takes place in the Pichl sports zone on the first weekend in September.

On Easter Monday it finally starts again for South Tyrol's young bikers. The first competitions will take place in Nalles. A cross country and an obstacle race are on the program.
