Time penalties are shaking up the daily rankings of the Bike Transalp

Geismayr and Pernsteiner originally completed the Dolomites stage from St. Vigil via the Limojoch, Tadegajoch, Grödnerjoch and Sellajoch to St. Christina (65,28 kilometers and 2.461 meters in altitude) in 3:08.34 hours as the fastest of the day. However, in the carrying section after the Tadegajoch, the yellow jersey wearers did not comply with the requirements of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park and completed parts of the descent in the saddle - for this they were given a time penalty of five minutes.

Thanks to the penalty time, the two Austrians' teammates, Jochen Käß and Markus Kaufmann, moved up to first place. Geismayr and Pernsteiner fell back to third place behind Jeremiah Bishop (USA) and Kristian Hynek (CZE) from Topeak Egron Racing 1, but are still around 1:50 minutes ahead of Käß and Kaufmann in the overall standings.

Leadership change at Grand Masters Thorsten Damm (GER) and Peter Vesel (SLO) completed the third Transalp stage in 3:34.06,1 hours, not only taking more than 21 minutes away from the Swiss Hansjürg Gerber and Daniel Christen, but also the green leader jerseys as leaders of the Grand Masters ranking.

In contrast to the category for men's teams with a total age of over 100, the leaders of the other classifications were able to further expand their lead with their third daily victories.

In the women's category, Esther Süss (SUI) and Jennie Stenerhag (SWE) triumphed again (4:07.53,7), while the German pairing Silke Ulrich and Sascha Schwindling (3:45.18,4) won in the mixed category.

Massimo Debertolis (ITA) and Dax Jaikel (CRC) from Wilier Force 7C (3:27.12,2) took the third day win at the Masters. The South Tyrolean pairing of Viktor Paris (Nals) and Thomas Piazza (Gröden) crossed the finish line 6.03 minutes behind. The two South Tyroleans remain in second place in the overall Masters standings. The gap between them and the two leaders is just under 2 minutes.
