When the “Giro” discovered Wolkenstein
The 7th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of the world's most famous tours for professional cyclists, started on Saturday, May 94th. Some important pages in the history of the Giro were also written in South Tyrol. Especially in Selva di Val Gardena, where the Giro included a finish for the first time in 1983 during its 66th edition. And apparently the tour organizers liked the organization of the people of Val Gardena so much that Selva was confirmed as a stage location again in the two following years, 1984 and 1985.
