Bernal extends Giro lead – Italian wins stage

The Colombian Egan Bernal has significantly increased his lead in the first difficult mountain test of the Giro d'Italia on Monte Zoncolan. Victory on the 14th stage with the ascent over the east side of the dreaded climb, which is only extremely steep in the last three kilometers, was secured by the Italian Lorenzo Fortunato from a breakaway group.
