Cavendish “climbs” Mount Everest by bike

The 34-year-old Brit posted a screenshot of his extraordinary success via Instagram with the words: “Together with Luke Row (also a professional cyclist, Note d. Red. ) climbed Everest. 8848 meters above sea level in a single climb. 211 kilometers. Ten hours, 37 minutes and 32 seconds.”

Cavendish is now calling on other cyclists to take on the “everest challenge”: “I take my hat off to anyone who can do it, regardless of the time. It was terrible."

On April 19, the Italian professional cyclist and mountain bike specialist Giulio Ciccone caused a stir with a similar achievement when he covered a distance of 19 kilometers and 254 meters in altitude within eleven hours and 10.397 minutes.
