The 44th Giro delle Dolomiti is getting closer

Two short sections are timed every day - but the cyclists cover the majority of the route at a controlled pace in the company of like-minded people and can therefore soak up the diversity of landscapes and beauty of South Tyrol with all their senses without stress or time pressure. During the Giro week, the participants will cover a strenuous 670 kilometers and climb over 12.000 meters in altitude. However, reasonably trained cyclists should be able to overcome this challenge without any problems. Also because there is traditionally a rest day after the first three stages. The particularly motivated participants, especially from abroad, often use this to climb one of the passes that is not on the program for the current edition of the Giro delle Dolomiti. The Giro delle Dolomiti 2021 leaves almost nothing to be desired in this regard. The circumnavigation of the Sellastock or the steep climb to the Seiser Alm, the largest high mountain pasture in Europe, have long been classics on the tour. No less demanding and beautiful are the sections in the Mendel Paradise, around the Rosengarten or, at the end, the team time trial in the Unterland, which has now become a tradition, in which a separate “Corporate” category was introduced for company teams for the first time this year. Premiere in the Dolomiti del Brenta The 44th Giro delle Dolomiti also features a completely new stage that has never been ridden like this in the over 60-year history of the renowned sporting event. On Tuesday, July 27th, the third section will take you from the starting point in Mezzolombardo to the Dolomiti del Brenta. Madonna di Campiglio is particularly well-known here, where, for example, the Giro d'Italia has already set up its tents several times and the prestigious World Cup slalom takes place shortly before Christmas. Registrations for the Giro delle Dolomiti 2021, which will take place in the midst of the corona pandemic with the greatest possible security and still completely relaxed, are in full swing a few weeks before the starting signal on Sunday, July 25th. “We have now cracked the 300 mark and are convinced that in the heated final phase there will still be numerous entries from local participants or those who do not have to travel too long. The 44th Giro delle Dolomiti is getting closer

In just over two weeks, hundreds of cyclists will experience the Dolomites up close. Starting from Bolzano, they will take part in a total of six stages in the mountains in and around South Tyrol as part of the Giro delle Dolomiti.
