25 years ago today: The most terrible death drama of the Tour de France
25 years later, the place of horror is a peaceful place. Every now and then cyclists stop and a car stops at this peculiar white stone sundial on department road 618 near the village of Boutx in the Pyrenees. Anyone who reads what is written on the memorial plaque next to it will get a faint idea of the tragedy that occurred here on July 18, 1995, in the worst racing accident in the history of the Tour de France.
