New stage winner at Vuelta

After the tough 94 km stage from Andorra la Vella to Cortals d'Encamp, the 20-year-old from the Emirates team triumphed for the first time in a major tour, 23 seconds ahead of the Colombian Nairo Quintana. Quintana took over the red jersey from the Vuelta leader.

Before the rest day and the individual time trial on Tuesday, the professional from the Bahrain team is 6:23 minutes behind Quintana. However, the overall winner from 2016 is only 6 seconds ahead of the strong time trialist Primoz Roglic. The Slovenian was third on the day, 48 seconds behind Spanish world champion Alejandro Valverde, Quintana's teammate at Movistar.
