Scandal at the Giro: Car knocks over professional

A real scandal occurred at the Giro d'Italia on Thursday: the driver of the BikeExchange car, sports director Gene Bates, rammed the Belgian Pieter Serry on the 6th stage. The incident occurred when Bates went to the jury vehicle to pick up a rain jacket that had been dropped off by a driver. Fortunately, the accident had no consequences for 32-year-old Serry. Bates, on the other hand, was excluded from the tour and the BikeExchange team also received a fine of 1800 euros.
