Van Aert celebrates stage victory as a soloist

Wout van Aert swung his arms as if he were flying towards the finish line. Then, after the stage victory he longed for, he threw himself around the necks of each of his teammates. After a spectacular attack on the chalk cliffs of the Channel coast, the leader of the 109th Tour de France, euphoric about the perfectly implemented plan, raced to the finish in Calais and broke his curse as the eternal second in this Tour.
