Vuelta: Roglic back in red thanks to 4th stage win

The tour runner-up from Team Jumbo-Visma won the 33,7 kilometer long individual time trial from Muros to Mirador de Ezaro and is now 39 seconds ahead of his competitor Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) in the overall ranking. Second place in the 13th stage went to the American Will Barta (CCC Team), who was only one second slower than the Slovenian. At the top, after the section on Tuesday, there was a change between the two tour favorites for the fourth time. It was only on Sunday that the Ecuadorian Carapaz took over the overall lead from Roglic in the queen stage, and now Roglic has regained the top position for the second time. The only individual time trial of the 75th Tour of Spain was mostly flat, but ended with a final climb. Roglic, who had lost the yellow jersey to his compatriot Tadej Pogacar in the finale of the Tour de France on a very similar route profile, changed his bike on the final climb and extended his lead over Carapaz, who ultimately finished in seventh place. In the end, the two drivers were separated by 49 seconds. On Monday, the mandatory corona test series on the second day of rest again did not produce any positive results. The medium-difficulty 14th stage runs over 204,7 kilometers from Lugo to Ourense on Wednesday, and escape groups should have a good chance of winning the day. The Vuelta is scheduled to end in Madrid on Sunday.
